In a recent interview, Chad Gable talked about his heel turn with Sami Zayn and their feud.
Gable said on The Gorilla Position on Saturday that he had “almost flatlined” as a babyface around WrestleMania. Gable, who lost to Gunther and Sami Zayn in the past, says he needs a change.
“The idea of turning heel was my idea,” he said. “I felt that I had almost flatlined in my babyface role somewhere around WrestleMania. I came up short a few time against Gunther, then against Sami. At a certain point something has to change, or people will not buy into you anymore.”
Gable continued by saying that they realized WWE’s show in Montreal was a perfect chance for him to become a heel.
Gable continued, “We made it work and the stars just aligned perfectly. I feel like everything just worked out for us.” “Since that time, Otis has become this perfect, sympathetic character you can’t but feel bad about. We’re just so lucky to have everything working in our favor right now. It’s wonderful that the story is moving along so well.
Gable lost again to Zayn this weekend in Glasgow. He hasn’t yet been announced for tonight’s Raw.
