Matt Riddle to miss weekend indie matches after Uber accident in todays Wrestling news

Matt Riddle will not be able compete in his scheduled independent matches this weekend.

Riddle was scheduled to compete in Northeast Wrestling on Friday in Connecticut and North Shore Pro Wrestling on Saturday in Quebec, but he revealed in a tweet that he will not be able make it to either event. Riddle claimed that his Uber was involved in an accident while on its way to the airport. He claims to have a concussion, some bumps and bruises as a result of the accident.

“I have a concussion, bumps and bruises but I’ll be fine #seatbelt” he wrote. “I have a sprain, bumps and bruises, but I’ll be okay #seatbelt.”

Tonight, Northeast Wrestling Over the Top in Woodbridge Connecticut was scheduled to feature Riddle vs. Brad Hollister. Riddle and Zak Patton were scheduled to wrestle at Saturday’s North Shore Pro Wrestling Golden Opportunity event in Quebec City, Canada.

Riddle was released from WWE in September 2023 after an incident occurred at JFK Airport, New York City. His release took place during a round that was made of roster cuts after WWE officially acquired Endeavor.

Riddle won MLW’s Battle Riot VI recently, earning him a shot at MLW’s World Heavyweight Champ Satoshi Kojima.

Riddle was the NJPW World Television Champ for 40 days earlier this year.
