Details of AEW & Arlington’s Summer Series financial agreement revealed in todays Wrestling news
Arlington, Texas is offering AEW a great deal to host their Summer Series in the latter part of this summer.
Wrestlenomics revealed via a public records requests that the company will pay $232,000 for five AEW collision shows (four live and a taped show) in July and August to be held at the Esports Arena, in addition to the Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor this year. According to documents Brandon Thurston obtained, two additional ROH tapes could be part of the deal.
The Arlington Expo Center contract lists AEW’s cost to Arlington Expo Center at $112,000, and Esports Venues’ costs as $120,000 for the use of the broadcast suite. Thurston noted that the rate is at a 50% reduction and that the local tourism group may help offset these costs with cash or financial incentives, according to a termsheet.
According to the schedule, Collision is scheduled to air on Saturday, July 29, at a time that is early for WWE SummerSlam.
Thurston wrote: “City records indicate that the venue will have a maximum gate of $58,080 for one event, with an average price on sale of $45.02.
Emails in the documentation indicate that there was a discussion about AEW possibly subletting the space either to CMLL or NJPW, but it is unclear if these conversations ever went anywhere.
