Clash at the Castle is set to host a match for the WWE Championship later this month.
Reports that Cody Rhodes will face AJ Styles on June 15th in Glasgow, following the show-closing arc that occurred on Friday’s SmackDown.
The Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles championship match is scheduled to take place at Clash at the Castle, Glasgow.
Styles teased his retirement on Friday. He had been thinking of it since he was told that he would have to wait at the back of the line after his WWE Backlash defeat to Rhodes. Styles invited Rhodes to the ring during his speech and praised him for his recent successes. Styles attacked Rhodes, but it was all a ruse. Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson who were ringside, resisted security as Styles continued to assault Rhodes.
Styles began his heel run in early this year, after taking a break. The match with LA Knight at WrestleMania culminated the heel run. He had been distant from his OC stablemates until Friday, and would often admonish them.
