Drew Gulak announces first independent appearance after WWE in todays Wrestling news
Drew Gulak returns to the independents after leaving WWE.
Beyond Wrestling announced Gulak as the headliner for its Americanrana ’24 show that will take place in Worcester Massachusetts on Thursday, 4 July. Gulak’s first confirmed appearance since WWE decided not to renew his deal is Thursday, July 4.
Gulak’s release by WWE was first reported last month in a round NXT roster cut. Paul “Triple H’ Levesque” confirmed Gulak had left the company at a press event in France following WWE Backlash. However, he said that Gulak wasn’t released – his contract was “just not renewed.”
Levesque did not address if Gulak’s departure was related to the allegation made by Ronda Roussy against him. Rousey spoke about a backstage incident in 2022 that took place when Gulak tugged on the string of Rousey’s sweatpants during an April appearance on NewsNation. Gulak responded to Rousey with a statement. He claimed the incident was an “accident” when he accidentally touched Rousey’s drawstring while he was going to shake her hand.
Gulak has been with WWE since 2016. Before signing with WWE Beyond Wrestling, was one of the indie promotions he regularly appeared for.
Beyond Wrestling is yet to announce Gulak’s opponent in Americanrana. The show will stream live on IndependentWrestling.TV.
