Tay Melo hopes to return to the ring as soon as possible.
Melo hasn’t wrestled for AEW since a fight with Anna Jay on the edition of AEW Rampage, January 11, 2023. She was on the shelf for a few months with bulging disks in her spine before announcing that she was pregnant at AEW Double or Nothing. Melo gave birth to a girl in November named Luna Melo Guevara. This was her first child with Sammy Guevara.
Last week, Melo revealed that she is preparing for a comeback to the ring. She said on Monday that she expects to be cleared within a few months.
Melo wrote, “A few more months before I’m cleared.”
Melo revealed on May 24 in a post on social media that she had not yet been cleared to take bumps.
She wrote: “had a nightmare I was taking my very first bump after the baby.” “not fun lol I am not allowed to bump tho”
On May 20, Melo revealed that she has been training for her return. She wrote: “So happy to have the opportunity to fight again. I’ll be back with patience, I have a new body and I still feel weak inside. I was frustrated a few times and had to hold back my tears. My body was the home of my baby for 40 weeks, and now I will get stronger for not only me but also for her. It’s still a long road ahead, but I am closer than yesterday.”
