Francesco Akira has been eliminated from the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 31, tournament.
NJPW announced on Tuesday that Akira would miss the rest of this year’s BOSJ because he suffered a left knee injury during Sunday’s show.
Akira sustained a knee injury during a B Block fight on Sunday against Drilla Mooney.
Akira being unable to continue his B Block bout, his opponents will receive forfeit victories in their scheduled bouts. Here are the current BOSJ rankings.
Akira had been pulled from the show on Tuesday, where he was scheduled to compete in a tag match. His status for the rest of the tournament was still uncertain pending a medical evaluation. NJPW announced the results of its evaluation:
