Former UFC rivals Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen will fight in a boxing match in todays Wrestling news
The boxing bug has bitten two former UFC competitors as Anderson Silva and Chael Sun will do battle for the third time — but this time, in the ring instead of the cage.
Silva denied that he would fight actor Terry Crews the day before. The “grand finale” is being marketed as Silva’s career, even though he’s refused to say whether he’ll retire.
The rules and whether this will be an exhibition or pro bout are still unknown. The bout will take place nearly two weeks before the UFC Hall of Fame inducts their first UFC match.
Since retiring from the UFC in 2009, Silva (3-2) has competed three times as a professional boxer. He has won over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Tito Ortiz and Jake Paul before losing to Paul in September 2022. Sonnen, who is 47 years old, has trained in boxing but has never competed professionally.
Silva won both of their previous fights in the Octagon.
