Tonga Loa will compete in a tag match on WWE SmackDown the following week in todays Wrestling news
We now know that Tonga Loa, a member The Bloodline, will make his in-ring début after arriving at Backlash.
The former NJPW wrestler is set to be a part of a tag-team match on SmackDown this Friday. Loa will team up with Solo Sikoa to face The Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford.
Loa has not wrestled for WWE since 2014 when he competed in NXT under the name Camacho.
Loa was introduced to The Bloodline as the newest member by helping Sikoa and Tama Tonga beat Kevin Owens & Randy Orton in a street battle at Backlash. Sikoa has taken charge of The Bloodline in recent weeks. Tonga and Loa joined the faction, while Jimmy Uso left.
In the storyline, Sikoa claims Roman Reigns put him in charge The Bloodline when Reigns was away. Reigns hasn’t appeared in WWE programming since his WrestleMania40 loss to Cody Rhodes.
Loa was a seven time tag team champion with his brother Tonga in NJPW. They were known as the Guerrillas of Destiny. In WWE, Loa’s spelling has changed from “Tanga Loa”, which was the case in NJPW. WWE registered trademarks for the two spellings of Loa’s name in early October.
Next Friday, SmackDown will be broadcast from Saudi Arabia, one night before WWE King & Queen of the Ring PLE. SmackDown will feature a King of the Ring semi-final match between Tama Tonga and Randy Orton. Tonga had defeated Angelo Dawkins in the earlier stages of the tournament. The Bloodline smashed both members of The Street Profits in that match.
