WWE clarified the status of the Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul match for King & Queen of the Ring.
Paul, the United States champion, and Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champ, signed the contract on Friday’s WWE SmackDown. Paul had the contract rewritten to ensure that his US title would not be at stake.
Paul brought a lawyer to a contract signing that was officiated by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. He announced that his legal team had rewritten the contract so that US title would not be on the line.
The Rhodes vs. Paul match was announced as a champion-vs.-champion match, but the original announcement did not specify whether both belts would have to be defended. Rhodes announced on X that he wanted to hold both championships last Friday:
King & Queen of the Ring is streaming live on Peacock/WWE Network, Saturday 25th May. The main event begins at 1 pm Eastern time. The pre-show is set for 12 pm Eastern. The current lineup of the show is:
