WWE NXT to remain on Tuesdays following move to The CW in todays Wrestling news
WWE NXT will not be moving to The CW in the fall.
In November 2023 WWE announced it had signed a five-year agreement with The CW for NXT. NXT will start airing on The CW in October.
The CW announced its fall schedule today and confirmed that NXT would continue to air on Tuesdays. It will remain in its 8-10 pm Eastern time slot. In a press release, The CW stated:
WWE NXT is a live show that airs every Tuesday from 8:00pm to 10:00pm ET.
The CW’s strategy of increasing its live sports portfolio includes acquiring the rights to NXT.
Brad Schwartz, The CW’s President of Entertainment, said, “We will also have more live sporting events than ever before, with the additions of WWE NXT and the NASCAR XFINITY SERIES, as well as second seasons of LIV golf, INSIDE the NFL, ACC Football and ACC Basketball.” “With 500 hours of sports by 2025, The CW will continue to grow and expand, while reaching and increasing our audience across broadcasting, streaming, and local.”
NXT is now a broadcast network, as it moves from USA Network to The CW. NXT is currently airing on USA Network and will continue to do so until the move to The CW.
SmackDown is returning to USA Network in September. Raw will continue to air on USA until the new deal with Netflix begins in January 2025.
