Andrew Zarian revealed to Andrew Zarian what he was told about AEW’s new signee.

Several updates have been released regarding the new AEW sign that will be revealed at Full Gear.
Tony Khan teased earlier this week that his company had signed “one the world’s greatest wrestlers”, and that fans would learn this person’s name on Saturday’s show.

Andrew Zarian, who hosts The Mat Men podcast, said recently that he was told Will Ospreay would be revealed as the mystery signer. Zarian has also been dropping hints about the person’s identity over the past few days.

Ospreay has a contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling that runs until the end January 2024. It’s possible that a deal between AEW & NJPW has been worked out.

Meltzer said that New Japan wouldn’t stand in the way of announcing or anything like that if he was still able to do big New Japan events. They would also know that he isn’t going to WWE.

Mercedes Mone was also rumored to be the new AEW signee. Fightful reports that Mone won’t be revealed on Saturday as the person, but she could still work with the company.

Ronda Rousey was also rumored to be the new signing, but Sean Ross Sapp said in a post on social media on Friday that she is not.

“It’s funny, because I know two different people who have told who it is. They had two different names.” Meltzer said, “I don’t think anyone knows.”
