Jesse Ventura claims to be in negotiations with WWE Legends for a deal in todays Wrestling news
Jesse Ventura has provided more information about the discussions he is having with WWE.
Ventura, 72, revealed last month that WWE and he were “talking” again now that the company has entered a new era. Ventura was willing and able to talk again with WWE, now that Vince McMahon is no longer involved in the company.
Ventura stated in an interview with Frank Morano, of WABC 77 Radio that the negotiations are for a WWE Legends Contract:
I’m back to negotiating with them. We’re currently in talks. I’m in fact working on contracts with the WWE with my lawyer. I can only say it’s because of the new direction of the company.
We don’t yet know [what his role will be]. They want me to return under their Legends. You know, you have to have legends because I’m old. If you go back to WrestleMania 1, there aren’t many of us left. It’s true. Look — Roddy, Orndorff, Andre, John Studd are all gone. As you start to go down WrestleMania 1, more disappear — Junkyard Dog is gone. The list is endless. We’re only left with Hogan, me, Tito and a few others.
You know, we’re now talking about me getting older. I’m now in my 70s. I’d like to see what’s left in the locker room at the end of my wrestling career. It’s not like I’m gonna go back on the microphone, because, to be honest, I don’t even know who wrestles at that place anymore.
Ventura, a WWE Hall of Famer who wrestled and did color commentary with Vince McMahon, Gorilla Monsoon, and others, was a voice that is synonymous with the company. Ventura has appeared on WWE Raw in 2009 as a guest host.
Ventura was governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003.
