Cash Wheeler’s assault case against AEW dropped in todays Wrestling news
Cash Wheeler will no longer be tried.
PWInsider reported first that the state has issued a nolle prosequi (decline of pursue) notice in regards to Wheeler’s aggravated assault with a gun charge, officially closing the matter, which was scheduled to proceed to an pre-trial on Tuesday afternoon. The trial date was set for May 20, according to PWInsider.
The legal proceedings stemmed from an incident which took place on July 27, last year, in Orange County, Florida. Cash Wheeler was allegedly involved in a “road-rage incident” in which he allegedly displayed a gun. Wheeler pleaded guilty to all charges, and was arraigned after an arrest warrant was issued in August.
Wheeler, along with Dax Hardwood, has been featured on AEW TV as a member of the FTR Tag Team. The two will team up with Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson to take on The Elite at AEW’s Double or Nothing Memorial Day weekend in an Anarchy At The Arena match.
