Sammy Guevara is no longer suspended from AEW in todays Wrestling news
AEW has lifted the suspension on Sammy Guevara, a former three-time TNT champion.
“There was nothing confirmed, but there were a lot of things that were said,” he wrote.
Guevara was suspended for the second time in his AEW career and first since 2020, when inappropriate comments he had made about Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks were revealed from a podcast he did in 2016.
Guevara is out of action since his no DQ victory over Jeff Hardy, in late February. Hardy accidentally broke his nose during a shooting-star press off the top ring. The match was not stopped, and Guevara hit the Go to Hell finisher on Hardy before pinning. Meltzer reported that Guevara had been told to pin Hardy in AEW’s protocol for concussions, but this was not done.
The 30-year old has not yet addressed the suspension directly, but he did thank his fans with a text-only message of optimism at the end a vlog.
After suffering a concussion during WrestleDream in October, he returned to the ring in late December for a tag-team program with Chris Jericho.
