WWE SmackDown returning to USA Network earlier than expected in todays Show_Type news
WWE SmackDown will return to USA Network earlier than originally anticipated.
Originally, it was announced that SmackDown’s new deal with USA Network will go into effect in October. SmackDown is returning to the channel on September 13th, USA Network revealed today. The date means that SmackDown will continue to air on USA on Fridays.
SmackDown returns to USA for first time since it left for Fox in 2019. Fox will air college football on Fridays this fall, as SmackDown is no longer on the channel.
SmackDown will be on USA Network until at least 2029. The five-year contract is worth $1.4 billion and includes four WWE specials each year which will air on NBC at primetime.
Earlier this week it was announced that WWE, NBCUniversal and a deal had been reached to keep WWE Raw running on USA Network until the end of the year. Raw will move to Netflix in January 2025.
WWE NXT will be moving from USA Network to The CW in October.
