Taz, a long-time AEW color commentary and fan favorite, said he would miss tonight’s Dynamite episode due to ongoing knee issues.
The 56-year old took to X and gave fans the latest update. He said that due to a treatment on one knee, and a procedure done on the other, it was “just not possible” for him to fly or travel to Edmonton, Alberta in Canada. He said that he would be back in Everett next week to perform at Dynamite.
Last week, Taz revealed to the world that he has been told by doctors that he will need both knees and both shoulders replaced. However, he will be opting for regenerative treatments over surgery at this point.
He said that the bumps and bruises he received in the ring during his 15-year career were not the cause of all his injuries. They were caused by training too heavily in the gym, “like a big caveman trying to get big.”
Taz, who made a guest appearance at AEW’s annual conference in October 2019, signed a multi-year deal with AEW on January 2020.
