WWE SmackDown announcer Alicia Taylor promoted to the WWE Ring in todays Wrestling news
Mike Rome replaces Taylor in NXT.
SmackDown will be getting another new addition following the WWE Draft.
Shawn Michaels confirmed in a video that ring announcer Alicia Taylor will be promoted to SmackDown after Tuesday night’s NXT. Michaels announced the news in front of NXT’s locker room, and presented Taylor an NXT Championship belt.
Michaels said Taylor was “unbelievable, incredible, wonderful and genuine” as a human being.
Michaels said, “Sometimes, great things happen to people who are great.” “And Alicia here, much deservingly, is now going to the main lineup.”
Taylor (real name Alicia Warrington), was hired by WWE in 2018 as a member to the NXT broadcasting team. She is also a drummer.
Mike Rome, formerly of SmackDown will be the new ring announcement for NXT. Samantha Irvin remains the ring announcer of Raw.
Taylor posted on Instagram that NXT was in good hands now that Rome is taking over for Taylor.

The WWE Draft saw Carmell Hayes, Blair Davenport and Baron Corbin join the SmackDown roster. Ilja Dragunov was called up to Raw along with Lyra Valkyria and Kiana James.
