Jerry Lawler claims that his career in WWE is likely to be over.
PWInsider reported that WWE decided not to renew Lawler’s broadcasting contract, which expired at the beginning of the year. He is still believed to be under a legends contract with the company.
In a recently published interview, Lawler stated that his career with WWE is most likely over.
Lawler said:
It was extremely difficult for me to sit behind a desk again and commentate on a match.
Lawler had a stroke in 2023, but recently stated that his “health is good” and he is only dealing minor difficulties. The 74-year old also underwent knee replacement surgery back in March.
Lawler’s last appearance on WWE programming was in November, when he announced qualifying matches for the NXT Iron Survivor Match. He also appeared before a live audience in Memphis last August when Raw was there.
