WWE SmackDown adds eight-woman tag match in todays Wrestling news
The episode takes place just before Backlash.
The final SmackDown episode before Backlash will feature an eight-woman tag team match.
Bayley, Naomi Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill are teaming up with Tiffany Stratton & Damage CTRL for tonight’s SmackDown show in Lyon, France. The match was announced during today’s Backlash fan event.
Bayley will defend her WWE Women’s Championship at Backlash against Naomi and Stratton, in a triple-threat match. This was confirmed after Stratton interfered in a title match between Bayley and Naomi two weeks ago on SmackDown.
At Backlash, Belair & Cargill will face Damage CTRL’s Asuka & Kairi for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. The premium live event will be streamed live on Peacock at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, May 4.
WWE has also announced Paul Heyman as Kevin Owens and Randy Orton’s special guest for their RKO Show segment tonight on SmackDown. Owens & Orton vs. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga is happening at Backlash.
