Ricochet is crowned WWE Speed Champion in todays Wrestling news
He defeated Johnny Gargano at the finals of the title tournament.
The crowning of WWE’s newest champion was broadcast on Friday afternoon.
Ricochet defeated Johnny Gargano and became the first WWE Speed Champion. The match was taped last Friday after SmackDown. The finals of WWE’s tournament to crown its inaugural champion. Ricochet defeated Dragon Lee and JD McDonagh respectively in the first round.
Due to the fact that this was the finals of a tournament, Ricochet and Gargano were given a five-minute limit – two minutes more than the usual WWE Speed match limit. Ricochet won the match with 40 seconds remaining on the clock.
Next Wednesday, WWE Speed will start a tournament to determine the first contender for Ricochet’s championship. The first round matches of the contender’s tourney will be Apollo Crews vs. Ivar, and Tyler Bate against Humberto.
This was a special edition of WWE Speed on a Friday. The show is usually broadcast on X (the old Twitter) on Wednesdays at noon Eastern Time. WWE and X have a two-year partnership for Speed.
