CM Punk gives an injury update following WWE SmackDown in todays Wrestling news
Punk performed live in front a Cincinnati crowd on Friday night for a promotional video.
CM Punk addressed the crowd at the WWE SmackDown tape on Friday in Cincinnati and provided an update on his recovery from a triceps tear.
In a promo that was not broadcast on television but was shown to fans, Punk said that, while he had not yet fully recovered from surgery for a torn triceps on his right side, he is on the right track and will be back in competition “soon.”
“I’d like to give you a little update. My tricep[s] are not 100 percent yet. But I am on the right track and I promise that I will soon be back to compete with all of the tough badasses behind stage.”
Punk tore his triceps during the 2024 Royal Rumble on January 27. The real-life injury then was used to fuel a plotline between Punk and Drew McIntyre. Punk then cost McIntyre his World Heavyweight Championship title at WrestleMania forty, then cost him the number one position for that title on Raw the following night.
The Alpha Academy and Chad Gable interrupted the promo during Friday’s SmackDown tape.
