WWE announces rules and eligible wrestlers to be selected for the 2024 Draft in todays Wrestling news

The draft will begin this Friday and end next Monday.

WWE has announced the rules and eligible wrestlers of its 2024 Draft.
The draft will begin on SmackDown on Friday, April 26 and conclude on Raw on Monday, April 29. Here are the rules in place:

There will be four rounds of 16 picks each on SmackDown (eight for SmackDown & eight for Raw).

There will be six rounds on Raw with 24 total selections (12 for Raw and twelve for SmackDown).

The champions for each brand are protected from being drafted.

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Asuka and Kaira Sane, are eligible for selection. They can appear on both brands, but will be assigned the brand to which they were drafted if they lose their titles.

SmackDown will choose first on Friday.

Raw will be the first to be picked on Monday.

The rosters will be locked on Monday, May 6th.

The Champions are Protected means that Cody Rhodes and Bayley will remain on SmackDown, while Grayson Waller & Austin Theory, Damian Priest, Becky Lynch & Sami Zayn and The Miz & R.Truth will stay on Raw.

WWE Backlash will take place two days prior to the roster lock on May 6.

Ilja Dragunov will be selected from the NXT wrestlers, as he declared his interest in the draft earlier this year. Dragunov lost his NXT Championship last night to Trick Williams.
Braun Strowman is in the Night Two Draft Pool. He has been out since June 2023, when he had neck fusion surgery.

CM Punk will also be included in the draft pool on night two. He had surgery after tearing both triceps at the Royal Rumble in January. WWE announced that Punk would be appearing both nights of the Draft.
