Williams pinned Ilja Dragunov to win the championship in the main event at NXT Spring Breakin’. Williams struck Dragunov with a kick to the knee for the win. Dragunov presented the championship to Williams after the match. Williams celebrated with fans in the audience at the end of the show.
Dragunov has now held the title for 206 days. He won the title in September at No Mercy by defeating Carmelo Hayes.
Williams, who had defeated Hayes during WrestleMania Weekend at NXT Stand & Deliver, called for a match against Dragunov to defend the NXT Title. Dragunov agreed to a match with Williams only if Williams was willing to put his NXT career on the line.
