The announcements were made ahead of the 2024 WWE Draft, which begins this Friday.
Grimes stated that he was happy working for WWE and that it was the only thing he ever wanted to do. If he wants to prove that WWE missed out on him, he’ll have to go elsewhere.
Trevor Lee, aka Cameron Grimes. I just got off of the phone with WWE and unfortunately, I’ve been let go from my contract. Five years ago, I told my father Tracy Caddell that I had signed with WWE. I loved working at the WWE. I loved working here. I want to thank everyone who has helped me. I could name everyone, but it would take a long video. Even though you haven’t seen my face in the last year, I have been doing my best to listen and learn from everyone who comes through.
If you’re a fan, I’m here tell you that a damn flame is lit under my arse, man. All I want is to work. All I ever wanted to do was work. This is it, man. But, hey! The good news is that Trevor Lee can’t be stopped now, baby. Let me tell that to you.
I love you guys. If you’re reading this, I love to you. We’re going to figure this out. This is not what I wanted. The WWE is what I have always wanted to do and become. But if it means I have to go elsewhere to show them they missed out on the WWE, then I guess that’s exactly what I’ll do. Thank you guys.
Grimes began his career in North Carolina independent wrestling. He was a star for PWG and Impact Wrestling, before signing with WWE in 2019 He held the North American Championship and Million Dollar Championship in NXT, but never had a prominent role on the main roster following his call.
