Mike Santana surprises fans with surprise return to TNA Rebellion in todays Wrestling news
The former TNA Tag Team champion has been gone for a while now.
Mike Santana has returned to TNA Wrestling for the first time since August 2019. He won Saturday’s Rebellion Pay-per-View and made a surprise comeback.
Santana won an impromptu match against former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin. He won after his Spin The Block spinning clothingline to end the hard-hitting bout.
TNA has not yet officially announced Santana’s sign-up. The former AEW wrestler reportedly was negotiating a date-based deal.
Maclin was in ring with a new contract, which he claimed to be. The company met all of his demands including one for a pay-per view match.
Santino Marella appeared and said that another superstar had been signed with a contract and was also ready for a match. Santana was brought out by the Las Vegas crowd, which led to the match.
Santana won four TNA Tag Team Championships with his longtime and now ex-partner Ortiz. The two spent three years with the Latin American Exchange (LAX) from 2017 to 2019 before moving on to AEW. Santana and AEW split up earlier this year.
TNA had advertised “lights-out” surprises for the PPV. However, since the lights did not go out during Santana’s introduction, it is unclear if there will be another surprise.
