Triple H and The Rock had a ‘great time’ on WWE WrestMania 40 creative in todays Wrestling news
Triple H spoke on Wednesday at the World Congress of Sports convention.
Paul “Triple H’ Levesque had an amazing time working with The Rock, his old in-ring competitor on the creative side of WrestleMania forty.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his return to the ring at WrestleMania for the first time in over a decade. On night one, he teamed up with Roman Reigns and defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Rock then got involved in the Reigns-Rhodes main event for Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on night two.
Levesque, WWE Chief Content Officer, addressed the World Congress of Sports on Wednesday. He praised The Rock’s commitment to making WrestleMania a memorable experience for fans.
I can’t imagine what The Rock will do next. He’s involved in almost everything. We were delighted to have Rock involved. When the biggest star in the world, arguably, wants to be a significant part of what you do, in a meaningful manner, and wants to do it so that he doesn’t just say, “Yeah yeah, I will come in, tells me what to do. I will go do this.” All of his resources, his brainpower, his creative abilities, his branding and everything else. I want to invest and make this an amazing ride for our customers. It doesn’t get better than that. If you had told me at the beginning of our conversations that we would be getting the heel version of The Rock from ‘Final Boss,’ I would have thought you were crazy. But that’s the level of his commitment.
He’s gone, making a few films, but he will be back, as he said last week. It’ll be an amazing ride when he returns.
Levesque, who has worked behind the scenes with Rock on WrestleMania, said that pro wrestling was in his DNA. Levesque said that working behind the scenes on WrestleMania with Rock was a blast:
[Rock] does a thing where he hits his arms and shows the camera that he has goosebumps. He and I have been joking about this for years. There’s nothing else. He doesn’t watch a movie and get goosebumps. I highly doubt that he watches the movie and gets goosebumps.
You get goosebumps when you’re standing on a ring during WrestleMania and 75,000+ fans are going absolutely crazy. It’s the adrenaline, it’s in his DNA, and it’s what he is. He loves it. You can see his passion in his face. He may be going in a thousand different directions, but as soon as he steps foot in our world, he is all in. It’s been a pleasure to work with him throughout the 90s and 2000s. It was great to work together again and be creative. I had a wonderful time.
WWE has already set up a future Rhodes-vs. The Rock will be a part of the match when Rock returns. Rock pinned Rhodes during their tag match on night one of WrestleMania. Rhodes defeated Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Rock was appointed to the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC.
