Jon Moxley to face AEW Dynamite next week in todays Wrestling news
This will be Moxley’s first AEW match after March’s Revolution pay per view.
Next week, Dynamite will feature the first AEW match for new IWGP World Heavyweight champion Jon Moxley since Revolution.
AEW announced on this week’s Dynamite that Moxley would go one-on-1 with Powerhouse Hobbs.
Moxley called Hobbs out in a promo which opened Wednesday’s show. The two then got into a fight after a Will Ospreay-Claudio Castagnoli bout later in the episode. Moxley and Castagnoli represented the Blackpool Combat Club and Hobbs, Kyle Fletcher Konosuke Takeshita and Ospreay were on the Don Callis family side.
Moxley defeated Tetsuya Niito in the main event at the NJPW Windy city Riot show held in Chicago on Friday, to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. His first title defence is set for NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, May 4, against Ren Narita.
Moxley has been active with NJPW and CMLL in the last month. However, his match on Dynamite on next week will mark his first AEW match since the Revolution pay per view on March 3.
Moxley vs. Hobbs was the only match announced so far for next week’s Dynamite. The show will also include the fallout of Sunday’s Dynasty Pay-per-View.
