Mick Foley feels better after battling symptoms of a concussion.
Last week, the 58 year old Hardcore Legend announced that he would not be returning to the ring to play one final match. Foley was experiencing dizziness and feeling lightheaded. He thought it was due to driving too much or not sleeping enough. But doctors told him the symptoms pointed towards a concussion he had suffered without knowing it. Foley admitted that he hadn’t done much ring training, but a little.
Foley updated his fans on Tuesday, letting them know that his condition had improved significantly.
Foley wrote: “I am happy to report that my symptoms from the concussion I suffered have subsided.”
He said that he was happy to have gotten this wake-up:
Mick Foley here with an update on concussions. You can tell by my tone that it’s good. Yeah, yeah. Really good news. I was still a bit out of it when I returned to work this weekend. Over the next three day, I felt the fog lift. It’s like coming up to the surface of the water after swimming under it.
Six years ago, I had a minor concussion after riding a rollercoaster which shook me side-to-side. After this incident, I have decided to no longer take on the deadly duo Father Time and Mother Nature because they began to kick my butt.
In a strange way, I’m happy that I got this little wake-up. I appreciate all the well wishes people sent me. People who cared about me. I’m doing great. I’m grateful for your support.
Foley, who hasn’t wrestled in 2012, was considering coming out to wrestle one final deathmatch as a celebration of his 60th Birthday. Foley claimed he was motivated to lose weight by the possibility of a death match. The match would have not taken place in WWE.
Foley’s parents “strongly” backed the decision to cancel the match.
