Tony Khan says that collaborating with WWE would depend on the circumstances in todays Wrestling news
The AEW President spoke to Comicbook.com in recent times.
Tony Khan has responded in response to reports that WWE was looking to collaborate with another promotion.
In a recent Sports Illustrated piece, it was stated that WWE was interested in working with wrestling companies from around the world. The article described such relationships as “anarea WWE rarely explored during McMahon’s four-plus decade leadership.”
Comicbook.com asked the AEW president if he’d be open to working and/or sharing talents with WWE if approached about it.
Khan replied, “It’s a fascinating thought.” It would depend on the circumstances.
Khan, however, noted in a recent interview that wrestling companies “hate” each other and that the competition between them “is the most real thing” in this industry.
Khan said, “Everyone knows the most real thing about wrestling is the competition among the companies.” “The companies will hate each other and this will be the natural resource that drives the industry.” They want to beat one another and take everyone’s free agents. This makes it interesting for everyone else.
Khan has allowed AEW talent in the past to appear on WWE programming, such as when Bryan Danielson Paul Wight and Chris Jericho submitted video for an episode of WWE Raw in 2021 celebrating John Cena 20th anniversary in wrestler. AEW agreed to allow Billy Gunn, to appear on the D-X anniversary special in 2022. WWE chose not to bring Gunn to the show, instead of adhering to AEW’s condition that Gunn would be referred as an AEW wrestling star during the broadcast.
Jordynne Grace, the TNA Knockouts Championship, took part in the WWE Royal Rumble in early this year as Mickie James did when she was the Knockouts championship in 2022.
