Nikki Bella considered joining AEW after seeing Mercedes Mone debut in todays Wrestling news
The Nikki & Brie Show featured the former Bella twins discussing their “athlete’s mentality”.
Nikki Bella recently considered a wrestling return.
Nikki, on the latest episode The Nikki & Brie Show mentioned that the twins get into a “wrestling mentality” when lifting weights. They even think about returning to ring.
Nikki said:
We always say that we have started to develop a wrestling mindset since you and I are both lifting so much. You know, like, We’re going back and doing this story, and cutting this promo.. You get it, but like how serious i got where i was like, Okay, I can do maybe a whole year at AEW, and I could do that every week.
Nikki said that she was unsure whether to contact Tony Khan after watching Mercedes Mone’s debut in AEW.
I was impressed by Mercedes’ debut and her promo, and the line ‘Here we make our evolution global’ stuck in my mind.
She means that it goes into many different leagues. It doesn’t need to be in one place. It could be anywhere where these women wrestle.
Nikki, however, decided that she would not be willing to spend time away from Matteo, her young son.
Nikki continued:
Wasn’t it me that was talking to you? I said, “Brie, I think I can make it for an entire year. I could do it from here to there, I could go every week, and I was good. Then I thought of Matteo. I had a great week, thinking I would call Tony Khan and tell him I’m your girl. I could commit. But then I thought, my son needs me.
Brie added
When you told that you were thinking about it, I said, “Please don’t ask to be your tag-partner because my husband is always away, and I am the one at home with the children.” My thing is how much I’d love to do it but when I think about reality, my schedule doesn’t work right now.
The former Bella Twins officially quit WWE in March 2023. They now go by Nikki Garcia, and Brie Garcia. Since the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2022, neither has wrestled.
