On Friday’s PPV, multiple championships were won.

Jon Moxley has been crowned the new IWGP World Heavyweight champion.

Moxley defeated Tetsuya Niito in the main match of Friday’s NJPW Windy City Riot Pay-per-View to win the title. He is now the first wrestler who holds the WWE, AEW and IWGP World Titles.

Ren Narita attacked Moxley, who was defending himself with a steel rod, after Moxley won the title. Umino saved Moxley.

Moxley noted that Narita had died, presenting two possible challengers to the new champion.

Commentators noted that Moxley was not a full-time NJPW member and that an outsider claiming the title could lead to major NJPW events without the title being defended.

The next major dates are Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni, Monday, April 29, in Kagoshima; Wrestling Dontaku, Friday, May 3 & Sat May 4, in Fukuoka; Resurgence, Saturday, May 11, in California; and Dominion, Sunday, June 9, in Osaka. All dates that Moxley can make while still maintaining a presence on AEW’s flagship Dynamite.

On Friday’s show a new NJPW World TV champion and a new NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champion were also crowned. Zack Sabre Jr. won the TV title and TMDK took the Strong Tag Team titles.
