Matt Hardy is ‘negotiating’ as a free-agent with ‘everyone’ available in todays Wrestling news
Hardy claims he’s still negotiating with AEW, even though his contract expired last week.
Matt Hardy claims he is negotiating “with everyone available”, including AEW, as a free-agent.
Hardy confirmed on this week’s The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast that his AEW Contract expired Sunday night at midnight and that he took advantage of his free agency to speak to a number of potential employers.
Hardy says:
“My [AEW] contract ended at midnight on Sunday night and Monday morning, so I am a freelancer right now.
Just negotiating, talking. I have interacted and talked to everyone. Still interacting with AEW. That’s where we are at the moment.
I had the opportunity to speak with everyone and negotiate when my deal ran out. “I’m weighing my options and I’m doing that right now.”
Hardy was offered a new contract with AEW. Hardy was asked if he ruled out returning to AEW.
“No, absolutely not.”
Hardy explained the reasoning behind letting his AEW contract expire:
“I do think that as time went on and we were so near the finish line, I did want to wait until all options ran out so that I can weigh my options.”
I can do everything correctly from a legal perspective and figure out what to do next.”
