AEW airs footage from All In of CM Punk/Jack Perry altercation in todays Wrestling news
The video shows Punk locking Perry’s face in a frontal facelock.
AEW Dynamite aired a video of the altercation between CM Punk, Jack Perry and CM Punk backstage at All In.
The Young Bucks played the footage into their storyline, as FTR were associated with Punk when he was in the company. They blamed their loss to FTR at All In on the backstage situation.
The video, which did not have audio, showed Punk talking to Perry. Punk suddenly shoved Perry, and placed him into a front facelock. Samoa Joe and Jerry Lynn, as well as Chris Hero, who happened to be in the vicinity, broke up the altercation. Sonjay Dutt was seen talking with Perry, while Punk was seen talking off-camera. Malakai Black approached Punk to speak to him. The footage ends with Punk walking away.
The Young Bucks, in character, praised Perry and called him a “loveable child.” They did not mention Punk but said that the “other individual”, who was a good friend of FTR, tried to make this about him. They suggested that FTR was the one behind the altercation but later retracted this statement as it was unprofessional.
Punk was fired from AEW after the altercation and returned to WWE a few weeks later at Survivor Series. Perry was suspended by the promotion. He has since worked NJPW shows under the moniker, “The Scapegoat.” Matthew finished their segment on Wednesday by wearing a Scapegoat shirt.
