Former Undisputed WWE champion Roman Reigns released a statement.
Reigns didn’t appear on WWE Raw on Monday after losing to Cody Rhodes on Sunday night in the main match of WWE WrestleMania forty night two. He posted a video to X with the caption “Yesterday, I mourned.” Today is Day 1.
Reigns is shown in the gym. He doesn’t speak anything in the video. After a few seconds, he looks directly into the camera.
Reigns’ reign as champion ended on Sunday, after 1316 days. He won the Universal title in a triple threat match against The Fiend, Braun Strowman and The Fiend at Payback 2020. He won the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Reigns defended the title 30 times in WWE programming, against Jess Uso, Strowman Kevin Owens Daniel Bryan Edge Cesaro Rey Mysterio John Cena Finn Balor Lesnar Sami Zayn Drew McIntyre Goldberg Riddle Logan Paul LA Knight and Rhodes. Seth Rollins defeated Reigns at Royal Rumble 2020 via disqualification. Rollins helped Rhodes defeat The Bloodline Sunday.
