Saudi Arabia will host SmackDown and the new WWE PLE in back-to-back evenings in todays Wrestling news
WWE has announced the first King & Queen of the Ring PLE.
WWE will present Saudi Arabian shows on consecutive nights next month.
During WrestleMania night two, a video was aired confirming that a WWE King & Queen of the Ring live premium event will take place in Saudi Arabia on May 25. The video also announced that SmackDown would be broadcast from Saudi Arabia on May 24.
This is a major change for WWE. SmackDown used to air episodes that were taped one week before the Saudi PLEs.
King & Queen of the Ring has been added to the WWE PLE. The first King & Queen of the Ring was originally planned to take place in Saudi Arabia, in 2023. However, WWE changed their plans.
The King of the Ring Tournament returns for the first time in 2021. This will be the very first Queen of the Ring tournament, although a Queen’s Crown event was held alongside King of Ring in 2021. Xavier Woods, Zelina Vega and others were the winners.
WWE has been holding regular events in Saudi Arabia since 2018 as part of an agreement with the Saudi government.
