GCW: Sabu did not attend Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame Ceremony in todays Wrestling news
Sabu was in the building, but did not attend.
One of the scheduled inductees was not present at the 2024 Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame Ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
Sabu was supposed be inducted as part of the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame’s 2024 class. However, he did not attend the ceremony. Brett Lauderdale, the promoter of Game Changer Wrestling, tweeted that Sabu did not attend the Hall of Fame ceremony despite being in the hotel below where the event took place.
Lauderdale wrote:
Sabu, in the spirit of independent wrestling has decided to keep the deposit and not show up at the indie hall ceremony today. He accepted the booking, took the money but didn’t want to get in the elevator or go upstairs.
What a legend
Sabu was at WrestleCon when the induction ceremony took place. Both events were held in the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Philadelphia.
The Briscoes, (Jay & Mark Briscoe), Trent Acid and Steve Corino were the other members of 2024 Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame. Kevin “Whack Packer ” Hogan, an indie superfan, was also a member. Jay Briscoe was inducted posthumously, as were Acid, Gilbert and Hogan.
GCW and Orange Crush Magazine present the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame. It was established for the first time in 2022.
