The Rock released a press release on Friday.
The Rock says that he is honored to share the WrestleMania ring with his opponents.
He released a Friday statement saying that he had pushed himself mentally and physically to prepare for the WrestleMania Night One main event. He said that his respect for the wrestlers he will be facing “is boundless.”
The Rock wrote
My 12-week training camp for #WrestleMania was intense and unlike anything else I’ve done. I’ve pushed myself to new heights in terms of my physical, mental and psychological abilities. The men I will be wrestling at WrestleMania this weekend are the best in world. My respect for these men is unending. My love for professional wrestling will never fade. I am honored to share the ring with you, to go to war on our squared circle, and to train the fans. Here’s an uncut and raw look at my final training session this week. Rock also spoke about his WrestleMania training camp in an earlier interview with ESPN. He said that getting back into the ring was “just like riding on a bicycle.”
“Suplexes. A launch off the toprope. A catch. Like bodies hitting bodies,” Rock said. “It’s stuff like that that you need to do and prepare for. You’re getting bruised, you’re hitting ropes. It returns fairly quickly. … It’s just like riding a bicycle.”
He will attend the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony tonight at Wells Fargo Center before heading to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday for WrestleMania. Rock will induct Lia Maivia into the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class.
