Schiavone: “It’s stupid of me to get involved in that.”
Tony Schiavone does not see any reason to respond to CM Punk’s comments made on The MMA Hour last week.
Punk told Ariel Helwani on Monday that Schiavone asked him to talk to Jack Perry behind the scenes at AEW Collision, when Perry wanted to smash a window of a car rental. Punk claimed Schiavone told him that Perry had abused him and other people backstage, and Schiavone asked Punk to speak to him.
Schiavone, when asked about the situation in his What Happened When Podcast, said that he had not listened to Punk’s interview but that others told him what Punk said.
Schiavone replied, “I don’t care a s— about it.” “I won’t get into it. I know what he has said, and let him speak if he wishes.
“I don’t care a sh–t. That’s all I can tell you.” I’m not going to get into it. It would be foolish for me to get involved in that. I don’t know what he actually said, but someone told me, “Oh, he mentioned your name and this is what he had to say.” I said, “So, what?”
Schiavone said that Thompson had no reason to address the matter, but Thompson insisted that Punk wasn’t being negative.
“No, I don’t know, that’s the reason I’m saying. So what?” If he was critical, people will say, “Oh, Shiavone is going to defend himself on his podcast..” I have nothing to justify.”
Schiavone had earlier thanked AEW’s staff and talent members for their support after the death of his beloved dog, Bug. He also praised AEW President Tony Khan, calling the man “one of nicest people that I’ve ever met.”
Schiavone said, “This is for everyone who likes to bash Tony Khan.” “He’s genuinely one of my favorite people that I’ve met in my life. He is. You may say: “Oh, you’re sucking to the boss.” If that’s your opinion, then go f—-k yourself because I am not.”
