Anthony Henry is unsure if he will continue to wrestle after AEW’s release in todays Wrestling news
The WorkHorsemen’s member was “devastated by the news”.
Anthony Henry said he is devastated at the news that he has been released from AEW and may not wrestle anymore.
Henry was cut from AEW’s staff in a small round on Monday. This marked the end of his tenure with the company.
The 40-year old took to X on Tuesday, in his first statement since the news. He said he was grateful for the support but was unsure of his future.
Henry is currently on the sidelines after sustaining a broken jaw in a March indie bout that led to him and JD Drake being removed from the AEW Tag Team Title Tournament.
The former Asher Hale of WWE NXT wrestled last for AEW mid-January, and was appearing more often with Drake on Ring of Honor TV. Drake was not included in Monday’s cuts, which also included Henry, ring-announcer Dasha Kuret (Stu Grayson), Jora Johl and Gravity. Parker Boudreaux and The Boys were also cut.
Tony Khan, AEW & ROH’s head, has not yet commented publicly on the reasons for the cuts. However, he will be on a press call this Thursday in order to promote the ROH Supercard of Honor on Friday.
Henry has been a professional wrestler since 2003.
