Ace Austin resigns with TNA Wrestling in todays Wrestling news
Austin has been with the company since 2019.
Ace Austin has signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling.
Denise Salcedo, our Denise Salcedo, broke the news in an interview with Austin on Thursday. The promotion confirmed the news later. The length of the contract was not disclosed. However, Austin had signed a multi-year agreement in 2022.
The 27-year old wrestler made his debut with TNA in June 2018, and wrestled there intermittently before signing a contract in 2019.
In a ladder match with five other wrestlers for the X-Division championship, he won his first TNA title at Bound for Glory 2019 in a five-way match. After nearly six months of holding the belt, he had shorter runs with gold in 2021 and 2022. Both lasted less than two month each.
He was a tag team partner with Chris Bey and held the TNA Tag Team Titles twice in 2023, as well as into 2024. At March’s Sacrifice, they lost the gold to The System. (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers).
Austin told Salcedo the main reason for his re-up was the “freedom” that he couldn’t find anywhere else. If I stay with TNA my options are open to me anywhere in the world.”
He added that he also wants to pursue TNA World title, do stunt work and act.
