Chigusa Nakayo has wrestled her final match.
On Saturday night, West Coast Pro’s Marvelous Coast show announced that this was not only Nagayo’s final match in the United States, but also her final match. Nagayo, Takumi, and Queen Aminata won the co-main match of the show against Sandra Moone and Masha Slamovich. Nagayo used the scorpion deathlock to submit Momono.
After the match, Nagayo and his trainees entered the ring, splashed her and pinned in a ceremony match. Nagayo then thanked her fans for their support.
Before the match, Madusa and Dump Matsumoto spoke a few words in the ring.
Nagayo began wrestling in 1980, and gained immense popularity in Japan along with Lioness Asuka. Together, they were known as Crush Gals. They were not only successful as a tag-team in All Japan Women but also sold records together as a singing pair. She retired in 1989 as part of AJW’s mandatory retirement policy. She returned in 1993 to form the GAEA Promotion and, most recently, Marvelous.
