Bayley was astonished to be at Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut.
Bayley, Naomi and Tamina, all WWE wrestlers, were among Mone’s friends who attended Big Business Edition of Dynamite on March 13 in Boston. Bayley was in a skybox above TD Garden as Mone delivered her first AEW promotional video.
Bayley told Digital Spy that it was a special moment to see Mone celebrating with her family and friends in Boston. Bayley is “very” proud of Mone despite being in different promotions.
Bayley said:
She’s the best. I wouldn’t have been here without her. She has done so much for my career, even after she left WWE. She was there for me when I needed her. I need to continue to be there for her throughout the years.
It was amazing. I was just happy that it was a Wednesday because I thought, “Alright, Wednesday is one of our few off days.”
It was a special moment to see her celebrate with her family, her friends, and the people she began wrestling with. She was also welcomed by her new family.
It’s bittersweet but I’m so proud of her.
Bayley told Sports Illustrated earlier this year that she believes she will always be destined to play one more match with Mone (the ex-Sasha Banks).
Bayley will compete against IYO SKY in a top match at WWE WrestleMania 40 in April. Bayley won the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match and earned the title shot.
