Maryse underwent a total hysterectomy following a pre-cancer diagnoses.
Maryse Mizanin, a former WWE star, says she is cancer-free following a total hysterectomy and a rare diagnosis of pre-cancer.
In a Thursday post on Instagram, Maryse revealed her hysterectomy as well as the staging of her lymph nodes. She also stated that her Primary Peritoneal Serous borderline tumors had not spread beyond the nodes and other parts of her body.
Maryse noted again the rarity of such a diagnosis. She mentioned that only seven cases are found per million women in the United States each year. She also stated that her next steps in recovery include a follow-up with specialists at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Maryse’s last WWE match was in 2022, at the Royal Rumble. She teamed up with her husband Mike “The Miz”, Mizanin to face Beth Phoenix and Edge.
She was a WWE Divas Champion twice, and her full-time WWE career lasted from 2006 to 2011. She returned to the company in 2016 and primarily worked as a manager for The Miz. She has made sporadic appearances since then, and starred with Miz in USA’s reality show Miz & Mrs.
