Kazuchika Okada wins Continental title on AEW Dynamite in todays Wrestling news
Okada defeated Eddie Kingston and became the second-ever champion.
Kazuchika Okada has been named the new Continental Champion.
Okada defeated Eddie Kingston in Dynamite and won the title. Kingston missed a backfist which allowed Okada pin Kingston using a landslide clothesline. After the match, he was able to celebrate with the title until PAC appeared and stared the new champion down.
Kingston’s Continental Championship run is over. He became the first Continental Champion by winning the Continental Crown at Worlds End in a tournament final. This tournament unified AEW’s newest title, the New Japan Strong Openweight, and the ROH World Championships. The Continental Crown is no more unified with Okada’s victory.
Okada stunned the world by joining The Young Bucks and a new version The Elite earlier this month. Nicholas and Matthew Jackson are stepping up their role as EVPs. Hangman Page has been suspended from The Elite, and Kenny Omega was fired from the group because he failed to show up to dates, despite Omega’s diverticulitis.
