Copeland is excited by the new additions to AEW’s roster.

Adam Copeland is thrilled to have Mercedes Mone join AEW.

Mone made her AEW debut on the Big Business edition of Dynamite From Boston, which aired last Wednesday. Copeland reacted in a new Sports Illustrated interview to Mone’s joining the AEW roster. Copeland believes Mone will have fun facing all the new opponents in AEW’s women’s division. Copeland stated that the attraction of working with new opponents he has never worked with was one of the main reasons he chose to sign with AEW.

Copeland said that:

For her, AEW represents a blank canvas and a brand-new palette of paint. For me, the experience was the same. I saw Swerve and The Young Bucks. I also saw Hangman Page, Kenny Omega. Claudio. FTR. All these names were new to me. Mercedes will have a great time here. Think of the new opponents.

It’s a great idea. I love that AEW has come to bring a new product to the industry. There’s [Kazuchika] Okada and [Will] Ospreay plus us all already here.

Mone will be making her second appearance tonight on Dynamite from Toronto, one week after her debut. Christian Cage and Copeland will also be competing in an “I Quit!” match for the TNT Championship. Copeland spoke with Sports Illustrated regarding the match.

A ‘I Quit” match is one that has a definitive end. We’re going out to feel the audience and react. We’re also going to take some risks. Christian is such a sass —, that I can’t help but be excited to feel the energy of the crowd.

It’s an actual story, which gives it a unique twist. This is our third AEW match, and it has a lot of meaning. When I decided to continue wrestling, it was for a match such as this that I returned.

Dynamite will be held tonight at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, Toronto. AEW Rampage airs live immediately after the episode. This week, Rampage will air outside its usual day due to NCAA March Madness coverage.
