CM Punk will attend WrestleMania whether he is invited or not.
Punk announced that he would be at WrestleMania next month in Philadelphia in a video promoting the appearance of Raw in Chicago next week.
Punk said, “WrestleMania will be in Philadelphia.” What are the four first letters of Philadelphia? Phil…whether I’m invited or not, CM Punk will be there.
Punk’s very first televised fight since his return to WWE in November was at the Royal Rumble back in January. Cody Rhodes, the eventual winner of the Rumble, eliminated Punk as the last participant despite him tearing his tricep during the match. Punk appeared in a sling on the next Raw and announced that WrestleMania was not in his future. Drew McIntyre mocked Punk for his situation, resulting in a fight.
McIntyre continued to use Punk’s name in promotional material, even selling merchandise related to Punk’s actions following the Royal Rumble. McIntyre won the Elimination Chamber match at WrestleMania and will now face Seth Rollins to defend the World Heavyweight Title.
