Kidd confirmed the news via social media.

Gabe Kidd will remain with New Japan.

Kidd confirmed on Sunday, a report by Fightful on social media, that he resigned from the company at the end of last weekend.

“YOU’RE VERY WELCOME @tanahashi1_100,” he wrote in X, quoting from the Fightful Report and mentioning NJPW’s newly appointed president Hiroshi Tanaashi.

Kidd’s contract had expired in January. According to Fightful, he continued working NJPW dates even though he did not have a contract.

Kidd, a member of Bullet Club War Dogs since 2020, has been training with New Japan as a young Lion. Kidd won the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship last July with Alex Coughlin after joining the Bullet Club in the past year. The two held the titles up until October, when they lost the Guerillas Of Destiny (Hikuleo & El Phantasmo).

Kidd has had a busy 2024. In February, Kidd took part in a ten-man steel-cage match that marked Will Ospreay’s farewell to NJPW. In the first round of the NJPW Cup, he defeated Callum Newman. In the next round, he lost against Shingo Takagi.
