Minneapolis submits bid for WWE WrestleMania 41 in todays Wrestling news
If selected, the city’s first WrestleMania will be held next year.
The city of Minneapolis submitted its bid to host WrestleMania next year.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Wednesday that Minnesota Sports and Events had submitted its bid to hold WrestleMania at US Bank Stadium. Wendy Blackshaw, MNSE’s president and CEO, told the Star Tribune the process was “very intense”.
“We are hopeful and I hope we achieve it,” she said. It would be amazing.
Patrick Kessler, of CBS Minneapolis, reported last year that the city had been selected as a finalist for the event next year. If chosen, this would be the first time WrestleMania is held in the city. WWE has not confirmed details for WrestleMania.
This year, WrestleMania will take place at Lincoln Financial Field, on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, 2019. On night one, Roman Reigns and The Rock will take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. On night two, Rhodes will compete for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Reigns.
