Yoshie was fifty years old.

Yutaka Yoshie passed away.

Yoshie participated in an All Japan Pro Wrestling event on Sunday in Takasaki. Yoshie was rushed to hospital in Tasaki City after his condition “suddenly worsened” when he returned to backstage following his match. Yoshie’s family notified AJPW later that he had died.

The cause of death is not known. He was 50 and was set to celebrate his 30th year in wrestling later this summer.

AJPW informed fans of Yoshie’s death on Sunday morning. The post is translated as follows:

Yutaka Yoshie died on March 10, 2024. He was playing in the Takasaki Tournament today. Yutaka Yoshie’s condition suddenly deteriorated after he returned to the waiting area following the game. He was rushed to hospital in Takasaki City but never returned home. We would like Yutaka Yoshie to be remembered for his achievements in his lifetime, and pray that his soul rests in peace. Yahoo Sports reports that fans in attendance said there were no noticeable spots during Sunday’s game where it appeared Yoshie might have been injured.

AJPW also announced that the broadcast of its TV program on March 11, has been delayed.

Yoshie made his NJPW debut in 1994. He would later hold the IWGP Tag Team Championships with Hiroshi Takanahashi. In 2006, he left the company and began working as a freelancer for organizations like Pro Wrestling Zero1, Pro Wrestling NOAH and AJPW. He won tag titles with Steve Corino, Shogun Okamoto, and Akebono with All Japan.
